Remember when the ivory micarta you could buy would turn that nice shade of yellow as it aged? I want some of that now. Where can I buy some. Do any of you knife pioneers have any left? Otherwise, what is the next best thing for imitation ivory in your opinion? Bruce Bump

bruce,I remember it well,it would age much like ivory, and I have a knife in my pocket with that type of micarta on it (Al Mar).It seems that a number of years ago, knifemakers and or knifemaker supply houses started bugging Westinghouse, the main mfgr.,of micarta, about making it so that it would stay white indefinately, seems that certain customers did'nt like it turning color w/age.If I remember correctly westinghouse just quit making it altogether,at least the white.Kind of a shame,IMO.
