March 28 th will always be a sad day for me as I remember the passing of both my beloved husband, Uncle Bill, and our close friend and forum moderator, Rusty 12 hours later.

Please give each of them a special thought today so they will know that we still love them and they are not forgotten and we will continue to carry on what Uncle Bill started. Thank you all.

Special thoughts on this day.....and every day.
I never had the pleasure of conversing with either man, but i feel i know their heart.
I and many of you fellow forumites walk the same path and seek much the same things in this life. May their spirit continue to guide us and this forum. To help us to do the right things and help to make the world a better place.

Namaste, Uncle Bill and Rusty, Namaste....

thoughts of gratitude and thankfulness , prayers and song for Bill and Rusty

I would have liked to have met them

Eric

I've never meet both but i'm pretty sure their spirit never left us.
2010 was a breakthrough year for me to know such noble acts of these gentlemen.

Mr. Bill Martino was naughty, funny and basically eat, drink (Heineken at times) and sleep Himalayan Imports and reading through his earlier days of Dotd this great man never slow down.

Rusty kept the boiling point of H.I steady and i'm very sorry he gone west.

My Salyan celebrated its 1st anniversary today and it gives me deep sense of belonging to HI.

Smoke sent again for them.

I found HI many years after Uncle Bill and Rusty walked west together. With that said, I feel like I know them. Thier spirit is strong here. What a wonderful gift and legacy. We can only hope we are loved so much. May God bless them and their loved ones. Namaste Uncle Bill and Rusty.

I was fortunate enough to become a member when both were active here and extremely fortunate to have U.B. personally help me discover the khukri that was meant for me.

This community means a lot to me because of these two men as well as all of you.

Uncle Bill and Rusty continue to live in memories and through their positive influences on the lives of others
(including those who haven't met them, like me).

A green beer bottle hoisted in their honor.

Funny how two men I never had the pleasure of speaking with in person have influenced my life in such profound and long lasting ways.

Smoke and Prayers up in memory of a couple of fine men.
I always loved the warmth and honesty that they both brought to the forums.
Uncle Bill was a pleasure to talk to on the phone and typically shipped my khuks before I managed to get the paypal done. Buisiness and heart combined.
Rusty showed us that you can never have enough back-ups to your back-ups.
Many fond memories of those days.

Both Bill and Rusty will live on through this Forum and us.

I just got a fresh one to hoist to them. To Bill-the "tin can" sailor whose bed held his khukuris, which constantly battled with the dust bunnies. To Rusty-always talking about that Chainpuri of his (what was it, 15" & 15 oz?) and his invention of the Kama Sutra oil treatment for khukuris. Gentlemen, we salute you.

Peace

Rick

Smoke from Missouri, I didn't know Rusty, but I did talk with Mr. Martino on the phone from time to time, he was a cool guy...... I will thank him now for pulling me back to HI..Namaste

I think of Uncle Bill and Rusty each time I log in to the forums. I daresay many others do also. I hope somehow they know how much we value their memory and the wisdom they left here for us.

Thank you, Yangdu for reminding us how much we valued both of them.
