Quick post in case anyone is interested. As I have mentioned, I am very picky, pay attention to every detail, and have owned and used very expensive knives, the names of which you are all familiar with. I just bought this Remette Swordfish. I did not know what to expect. I thought it was going to be a bit small for me. I am very pleased and pleasantly surprised! What a gorgeous, well built, well machined chunk of a knife. Nice and hefty, feels great in the hand. Does not feel too small, although I do prefer my 4" blades and 9" OAL knives.
Absolutely love this knife. Now would I carry this and beat the crap out of it like I would a paramilitary 2? No, but I would certainly enjoy carrying it and using it for normal tasks. Will it satisfy those who like to fidgit/flick with their Spyderco knives or flippers? Most likely not. Is it satisfying like the blast off of a spring loaded OTF? No. However, the blade slides in and out nicely and locks up solid. A tiny bit of front to back movement when the blade is open, but if you are holding the wings on the sides, no movement. No rattles when the blade is closed. If I had to choose the only thing I could complain about, which is really not an issue, it is that I would have liked to see the very tip of the pocket clip more rounded rather than coming almost to a point. To use a word I used to use in high school, this is a rather 'bitchen' knife. Or what do the younger folks say now, 'sick', 'dope' or have they moved onto other not so brilliant slang expressions?
