What do you guys think of the remington bullet knives. I was kinda thinking of getting a R1306 Trapper Bullet knife for around town carry. How is the quality? Are they made by remington or for remington? U.S. made or import?
They look good to my 50+ year old eyes. They go for $20 to $25.
My current EDC is a Victorinox Soldier. Great knife but not real pretty
Thanks for your imput.

Just currious what do you think the average age is on this site? I'm 53

I also like them, but I wish they'd make one with a liner lock for one blade.

I have an old camillus bullet style trapper with double locks, but the extra doo dads make it kind of uncomfortable to use.

The Remington R1306 1990 Tracker Bullet kknife was indeed made by Camillus. I use mine and it has been a great knife. Holds a good edge.

If you find one new for 20-25 GRAB IT!

i have had a couple of them, and i like them a lot, i think they were made by camilus for remington, have carbon steel blades that get wickedly sharp. i carried in my survival kit a remington boyscout type knife except it had a saw in this was part fo my minikit when i was doing a lot of elk hunting.

I have a ranch hand and it is a great knife. It holds a great edge. I would buy another one in a flash

Are you sure about the carbon steel?

Every Remington Bullet knife reproduction made by Camillus that I have are stainless steel, usually 440A.

Thanks for the imput. I have an older Remington Scout type knife which I like alot and to me seems to be a good quality knife but I have been unimpressed with some of the Smith & wesson , Colt & winchester products that I have looked at lately. I would be buying this knife on line and would not have a chance to look at it first hand so you are my eyes and hands.
Thanks again. I have never gotten bad advise from you guys/ladies

I have the R12 which is a two bladed Remington made in the USA by Camillus. I believe it is a mid-1990's knife. Have used it to handle the chores on a number of deer. Great knife and it is easy to sharpen and keep sharp.

FULMTALJKT: If you're into a large traditional folder like this but want carbon steel, check out the Queen Mountain Man. Not MY cup of tea for day-to-day carry, but certainly a beauty and, by all accounts a very very good knife.

It's a litte bigger that the Remington (I think) but the 1095 is a great working steel. Takes a razor edge, holds it well enough, and is very easy to touch up.
