this is my first posting. I recently purchased a very old remington bullet knife #R1253. I have looked at 2 popular collectors books and do not find anything to answer my question. The blade on this knife has 2 half moon clips cut into the nail grove on the blade. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or a variation on this blade and what it is for. thanks
