Got this Camillus made replica of the classic Remington 1123 today, was surprised at how cheap I got it off Ebay, total with S&H was under $30.00 and I was REALLY suprised to find the Certificate of Authenticity" says it has "Hi Carbon 0170-6C", assumed it would be stainless. If I'm not mistaken, isn't 0170-6C the same as Case CV and Cold Steel Carbon V (which I do know Camillus made Cold Steels Carbon V knives).

Nice find, TLC.

I have the 1173 reproduction that was done as a Remington/Camillus offering for the NKCA several years ago. It is a really nicely executed knife with very nice jigged bone but I'm guessing the CCC-5 blades were stainless.

You got a nice one there.

TLC, how do the Madison marked knives compare to the 80's and 90's Remingtons? I've shied a way from the Madison tang stamped because I was unsure of them quality wise, what with so much of the Remington stuff now being made in China.

I've gotten some good deals on some of the Camillus made Remingtons and am happy for it. And, for you. Great looking knife!

Same as the others, both the 80's and 90's ones as well as the Madison ones are all made by Camillus. I can't tell any difference other than the new tangstamp.

I can tell you one thing about this knife, its gonna need a sheath!

Those front corners on the bolsters are WAY to pointy for pocket carry, I tried to carry it in my pocket today, and every time you set down they were jabbing into my leg!

That is a big/thick knife for pocket carry otherwise I'd be tempted to carry my original R1123.

Keep it away from me, or you'll have drool all over it! :D

My dream is to own some original Remignton R1306 and R1123's, but my budget and my dreams rarely meet! :D

Understood. I lucked into the R1123 for a very reasonable (think fire sale) type price otherwise I'd not have one either. An R1306 (or 1303) would be great as well. Hell, any of the original Bullets would be a welcome addition.
