I have no experience with them, but they probably aren't the greatest. Most firearm companies pay places overseas to make their knives, so you can find better. Buck had some great low cost hunting blades, as well as Gerber.

I would avoid any knife for a hunting application with a partially serrated blade. What would you use the serrations for?

One that I just ran into the other day that appeals to me somewhat is the new SOG Revolver 2.0 which has a blade that rotates; saw blade for cutting stuff, and plain edge with a gut hook on the other side. I believe they include a thinner blade as well with them. I am not recommending it, just mentioning to take a look at. It's big brother is larger. I have one of those that I bought when they first came out a number of years ago.

I used a Remington slip joint bullet Trapper for years as my one and only "hunting knife". It worked well but many want fixed blades for hunting. I would suggest something in the 4" blade range as being the most practical. Perhaps the Kabar Becker BK-16 which is modestly priced.

One of my favorite small blades for hunting is the Spyderco Moran. It does not have a full tang, but I feel that it is sufficiently tough for the application. It is light and handy.

What do I use? I currently use one of Bob Dozier's customs.

I'd never buy one. Honestly man, there are wayyy too many better knives out there even in that price range.

But ya know....if it melts the Velveeta on your bologna, buy it.
