Does anyone know who made this Remington? I think I read a while back that most were made by Camillus. I also don't remember when I bought this and gave it to my Dad. Does anyone remembers about when they were made?
Thanks, I thought you guys might like to see this.

PS knife on the back if the box is a pic. When I looked at the pic, it appeared to be a real one laying on top.

That appears to be made by Camillus. The packaging was done later on by somebody else. Unless the knife says China on it, it was made by Camillus.

Knife is marked Remington UMC made in USA, just like the pic on the box.

added close up of marking on box.

This was a promotion from the early 90s, when a package of 6 fifty round boxes of 22lr ammo was purchased you got a free knife. A gun dealer I know bought cases of these from a wholesaler at closeout, sold the fifty round boxes at a dollar a box and kept the knives thinking that they would be worth something someday. He still has most of them except for the one I got from him last summer. The blade was carbon, surprised me that it was not stainless.

I remember getting that same deal back in the early 90s and it got me hooked on Remington knives made by Camillus. They're still some of my favorite knives!

I have one that was sent to me by a forum member here, to give to one of my Scouts. (same packaging too.) The tang stamp on the little knife is identical to another Remington I know was made by Camillus, so my assumption was it was Camillus-made too.

thx - cpr
