Just wanted to share pix of my latest acquisition, an original Remington R1123 Bullet Trapper.

I am the third owner of the knife, having purchased it from a collector who had bought it from the original owner.

The knife has seen a good deal of use and many sharpenings but is still in quite good condition. It walks and talks well and only has a very small chip in the edge of the clip point blade.

It's nice to have this small piece of pocket knife history in my collection.

Blues,
It must be a very small chip because I can't see it. But then, I wear glasses to see small stuff :).
It is a very nice knife to be as old as it is. The old yellow handled case I had was wore out when I retired it. It is also good that it was a good using knife and was used.

Thanks, Phil and Ray.

Yeah, the "chip" is very small. The kind you can barely see and only feel if you slice something like glossy magazine paper or run your fingernail over it. Not worth sharpening it out.

I enjoyed pairing the knife with the book above. It was published in 1923, a year after the R1123 was originally introduced by Remington (September, 1922).

Nessmuk (George Washington Sears) used to write for Forest And Stream, Ray, and I treasure the knife you made for me based upon the design in his book Woodcraft And Camping.

Nice pickup Blues, not to mention a classic in one of your favorite patterns.
