Remington R1123 ???

I recently got a box of knives that belonged to my late grandfather. I know nothing about knives. While going through the knives and doing some searching online to identify them, I found out that one of the knives is one of the Remington R1123's that seem to be sought after by collectors.

I was hoping you guys could help me verify what I have. On the tang (just learned what that was) of one blade, there is a circle with "Remington UMC" in it. On the outside of the circle it says "U.S.A." on the left side of the circle and "MADE IN" on the right side. On the back side of that blade it had "R1123". Nothing on the blade itself.

On the other blade, there is a printing of some sort on the blade itself that has "Remington" with "TRADE MARK" underneath it. On the tang of this blade there is a circle with "REMINGTON UMC" on ones side and "AUTHORIZED REPRODUCTION" on the other.

I tried taking pictures of these markings but my camera sucks at macro. I can't get it to show up. I attached a couple of pics. I'll try to get some better ones with a different camera if you need me to.

So is the real deal? How much are these really worth? I'm willing to sell it but don't know if I should go the eBay route or try selling to individuals (classifieds on forums, etc.).

Any help or info you can give me would be appreciated!

Thanks!
Derrick

That looks like it's a 1982 Camillus made reproduction of a Remington 1123 Jumbo Trapper.

It is made by Camillus.
However it is not the 1982 (Model Four- Model Six) reproduction bullet knife.
The "Authorized Reproduction" stamp is the difference.
They also have the "Flush End" where the blade tang, spring end & bolster end are all polished flush (tricky to do right!!!)

I think they were made in the mid 70's.
Although they are considerably rarer than the 82 R1123, they do not get as much money as most collectors are unaware of them.

I have seen them at gun shows for $70 - $125 (no box/papers)
As a side note I have never seen any with box or paper!
