Does anyone know anything about the re-issued Remington R6 hunters? While digging around in the basement I came across one that I forgot I had. Bought it new and it's still new, un-used and in the box with all papers. I plan to give it to my son-in-law for his birthday and am wondering if it's worth giving as a gift. Any one know it's approximate value? I think I bought it in the mid 1980's, anyone know the year they were produced? Is it collectible? Thanks.

Yep, that's the knife. The handle is actually Delrin, like all the Rem. Bullet re-issues. The knife is extemely sharp, has a bone saw on the spine and finger-grip dots on the sides of the blade near the tip and a slight dip in the spine near the point so you can do your caping with the knife as well as the skinning. Thanks for the input, Oregon, guess I'll give it to my son-in-law. Hope he likes it.

All the best to you and yours,
Bill

I have one of these... bought it in the early 90's. I never used it much, but have recently found it's actually terrific bushcraft knife.
