I've been looking at getting a cheap user.The Remington Sportsman line(now discontinued)doesn't look too bad.I believe the steel on the U.S made ones is 440A.I don't expect miracles out of it,but can anyone tell me if it'll hold a fairly decent edge?
I think that in later years they were made in China from 420.I have no interest in these.It's the U.S made model that I have a chance on getting.
Western made pretty much identical models,I think also with 440A.
I really like the kraton handles.
I do have some Moras & other cheapies but would like to give the Remington a try.Does anybody have one & can tell me what they're like?Thanks.
