Hello, I recently picked up an old yellow swell bottom trapper that has the what I thought as 1933-35 markings on tang. This one has the circle with made in U.S.A. around it, with
Remington inside, but it is underlined. Also, I see no pattern number on either blade? Any ideas of year range?

Pictures would help.
Tang stamp sounds like what is on my Remington canoe with no R number made by Camillus sometime in the early 1990's.

definitely old, not those 90's repros. Bought in surrounding town of Stratford, CT.

swell bottom
I'm sure Bernie would call it a Regular Jack! Look on page 177 of Levine's guide!!
Your term must be colloquial!!??
But it's your Jack! Call it what you want!! Just don't call it late for dinner!! :p

The stamp dates to the early 1930s.
Remington called this frame a swell end jack. This one would be a swell end trapper jack.
Look closely at the reverse side of the tang. There may be the remains of a pattern number stamped in ink, or not as this marking wasn't real durable.

Its a swell bottom jack with a trapper blade configuration, no pattern #
should I move this to Bernard
levines i.d. forum??
Thank you very much. The line threw me off, I dont see many like that. I will post a pic of it oiled wiped and sharpened when finished for my collection.
