looking to buy my son a deer gun. I been leaning towards a rem 770, does anyone outhere have anything good or bad to say about these rifles? I have a 710 30-06, im looking at getting him a .243 770 (Y), thanks in advance

one of my buddies carries one of those, in .243, has a 4X12 scope, he bought it for his son and sighted it in and on a wim took it out hunting, liked it so much he bought his son another one & kept the 1st for himself lol, he likes it because its a short handy accurate rifle, he really likes his a lot......son likes his too.

Good rifle as is the Savage youth. With a changeable buttpad the length of pull on either can be changed as he grows. Thank you for passing the hunting heritage to your son...it is important to our country these pieces of our heritage are not lost.

i guess im liking the 770 more cause it comes ready to go, with a scope already boresighted. my 710 i have shoots very well
