Remora handles

Never seen anything available but have seen a lot of really sweet mods. Image search brings up tons.

Here's what I did. Used thin leather lace.

710 made some micarta handles for Amanda's Remora a while back. Completely changed the feel of the knife.

Would be good to have a stock set available. I'm using the remora to teach my 5 year old son safe knife handling. A handle would make it easier. Good little knife.

I vote bflying for Winner!

:p

Thanks for the chance!!

Thanks. It added a tiny bit traction with a little more purchase. But I may redo it with thicker leather lace. Something closer to boot lace thickness would be a better grip for my hand. I have a bunch of rolls on hand, but initially thought the thinner leather would match better for such a small knife.

I just tied a knot, then put a drop of superglue on the knot so I never worry about unraveling.

I don't remember what it's called but it's used for mending fishing nets. It's a 500# test line, and it's coated with a waxy substance.

Different sizes (thicknesses) have different tests (strength limit).
Bank line is a tarred polypropylene twine, it's pretty good stuff. If you know knots, you should be happy with it.

This thread will cause me to order some, thanks!

Not to get too far off topic but I thought bank line was only like 50/100# test...?

The #36 is 111lb, but they go up to #120 for heavier poundage.
