Remote Car Starters?

My wife is asking me for a remote car starter for Christmas. Does anyone know about these things? Which ones are good, how much they cost, DIY install or have someone else do it, etc. Do these things have some sort of security/anti-cloning protection?

I have use dthis one in my truck since it was introduced without any problems and a very, very long range

batteries last about 30 days (aaa)
