Just ordered a Remote Release II. I've been wanting this model for a long time for backpacking. I plan on attaching it to my pack's shoulder strap for quick, easy access. With its SE, it will back up my SAK for more aggressive cutting.

This model doesn't get much press. Anybody have one?

It's a very very nice knife. There's nothing else like it really. Decent size blade, above average steel, a well built clip mechanism, and those vicious serrations in a 2.5 oz package that locks up nice and tight. What's not to like. :D

My RRII arrived Friday before my Labor Day backpacking trip, so I was able to take it along. Simply put, this is an awesome pack knife and it lived up to my high expectations. The built-in shackle clip works like a charm. The knife is obviously designed for outdoor activities like backpacking and kayaking since concealment isn't one of its strong points. The extended handle makes for a very comfortable grip and the blade length and shape is perfect for all round cutting tasks.

Spyderco delivers another winner!
