Hi, guys!

Someone had posted about what kind of rivets they used on their Busses when they wanted removable handle scales...it was a particular site or type, I think. They seemed to fit perfectly "out of the box" without alteration, if I remember correctly.

I can't find the thread...does anyone have a link to that; or can anyone recommend a good set of pins for Busse handle scales that make them easy to remove for cleaning?

Thanks!

Thirds on this request; I have two project blades (bussekin) that need new rivets, mights as well make them easily removable!

The rivet holes are 0.25" in diameter if that helps. For easy-to-removeness, probably go with Torx screws, like the ones used on ESEEs. One side is the screw, the other is a post. They use hex bits to tighten and loosen. Well, something like that :p I'm sure that's not the right name. it sounds like a trademark. But just get t a post with an outside diameter of 0.25" and a screw that fits.

Use hex head screws instead of Torx screws. If you're even in need of a quick handle fix, it's a lot easier to get hex wrenches than Torx wrenches. What would you do if your handle screws loosened in the field? Any rural gas station could possibly have a set of hex wrenches available for you.

Great suggestions so far!

Anyone try chain ring bolts? I think they'd look neat if they fit... Plus, most of those just need a flat-blade screwdriver to adjust/tighten them...
