Removable handle scales???

So I have been seeing lots of sweet handle materials as of late, glow in the dark Kryptonite, lava kirinite, and a few others. I am just curious to see if any of you Hogs and Rats have ever made your scales removable for cleaning or just to change the look every once in awhile with a different set of handle material. Lets just say I wanted to have some scales made for a Mean Street, or to order a different pair from Busse like G-10 or Camel Bone, obviously I could not have the flared tubes and would need some type of screw, does this effect the warranty? Just looking to spice up the EDC every once in awhile.


Let me know what some of you all have done.

Ya know I love the look of some of the kirinite. I think the main reason Busse wouldn't provide it as an option on their production models is that it might not be strong or durable enough to provide the lifetime warranty. But man it sure looks slick:thumbup:
 
I've made 3 different sets of scales for my boss jack. I used torx screws and spacers so I can swap them out when I feel like it. Works perfectly.

Do you have any photos of the hardware and scales? What method did you use the remove the original flared tubes?
