I'm thinking about putting micarta scales on my Gossman PSK but I want them to be removable. What are the screws called that are used for this kind of thing? What I'm talking about is like on the Beckers and RATs.

could be torx screws, i would imagine it would be pretty simple to remove the scales, sure somebody will elaborate on the topic for ya
ive taken off torx screws and rescaled a gerber freeman, went pretty easy, my Buck alpha dorado has torx screws also.

I picked up several "sex bolts" at my local hardware store. No, I didnt ask! They had both Al and nylon versions and they were sold in various lengths a la rivits. I havent used them yet, still trying to decide what slab material to try..... maybe thick rubber strips fpr grip. easy to remove and possible fire starters. hope that helps. Maybe look for "binding screws" as well-check out Mcmastercarr for small quantities.

You could use the threaded sleeve and matching screws folder makers use as pivots. Most suppliers will have them.

Thanks man but I think I'm going to go this route. I just needed the name to know what I was looking for. Although now I know, I kinda wish I didn't.:D

I'm contemplating the same thing and I was planning to use flat head torx or socket head cap screws, and threaded sleeves.

I'v always known them as "chicago bolts" you can get torx, hex and regular driver head ones in all sorts of sizes.
