Removable thumb stud?

Hi Guys,

I have a Barrage 586 that I carry clipped into my right front pocket. I find the right thumbstud on the blade drags/snags inside my pocket. It looks like it is screwed into the blade, but it must not be screwed in very deep since the thumbstud on the left side comes in at the same place on the other side as well.

There seems to be a small torx hole in the thumbstuds. Is only one side of the thumbstud removable? Has anyone done this? Otherwise I'm thinking of filing it down a little to reduce the profile.

There's actually two pieces of the thumb stud, and the one side screws into the other side, and yes they are removable

It may be worth it to call benchmade cs and ask if they have a one sided thumbstud that will fit that model. If they do, they will send it free of charge.
