remove blade/pivot from AXIS w/o full takedown?

I have a BM 710 Axis.

Can you take out the pivot/blade without fully disassembling the AXIS lockbar, and successfully put it back together?

I tried disassembling a MOD CQD Mk II and the spring-loaded ball bearing popped out, necessitating a trip back to the factory.

I can take out both halves of the pivot, but I'm worried that the lockbar is so tight that I won't be able to fit the washers and blade in back between the liners.

Thanks!

Yep!

Just pull back the lock bar when reassembling.

ToTC,

Sweet! Thanks for the help.

Hehehehe. I can't help taking all my knives apart and cleaning them out thoroughly.

It's only bad when stuff goes flying and I can't get it all back together again.

The Axis lock does come apart reatively easy, having taken the blade out without taking the Axis lock apart, and with taking it apart, I find it easier to do it with the lock out. The Axis lock is screwed together, I used two pairs of pliers the first time, and now I am looking around for some type off spanner to make it easier.

By the way the Axis lock came apart and went back together with no scratches. My only other suggestion would be to use a removable type thread lock.

If I get some time I'll try to post some disassembly pics. :)

T. Erdelyi,

Thank you for your help. I checked out your disassembly pics, and they definitely help.

I think I may have to break down my 710 soon. After all, how else can you adequately clean out the pivot? ;)

Hehhehehehe.
