remove rust spots from VG1 stainless

i have a cold steel triple action that i usually keep in a safe but today i decided to take it out and play with it and i noticed about five small rust spots and i was wondering what the easiest way to remove them is preferably using household materials
 
Flitz metal polish always does the trick for me. Hopefully you'll have some around the house.;)

Yep keeping a tube of Flitz or Simichrome around iis a good idea, $3-4 for a tube that will last forever.

You can also use WD-40 and a cloth which works for light rust. You might invest in a Tuf Cloth to keep it from forming again.
