I have a feeling that something with a price tag like that isn't for the hobbyist(?). Still cool, and and amazing how strong we can make lasers these days.
 
I'm a bit suspicious of this thing at the moment. It doesn't look like a prototype, it's not burning through the table and $380K is a pail of money for something the only use they could find, demonstration-wise, is cleaning up rusty castings.
But sort of like pressure washers 30 years ago you had to fork over serious coins to achieve 1500 psi and nowadays a $500 hardware store bargain jobbie can put out twice that.
 
The power supply, as I understand it, is the size of a van.
 
Man ! If I could afford one of those I would.....

Buy 2 of every type of wire wheel available, plus fully restore my 1958 bench grinder, and still have a crap load of money left for axes:D:D
