Just received my Esee Candiru. I decided to remove the coating and force a patina. I watched a few YouTube videos before of course. This was easier than any video I watched. I didn't even have to scrap at all. It just completely bubbled up and came off in one piece.
I used Klean Strip premium stripper. Coated both sides really good and left on for 20 minutes. Then cleaned it off and soaked it in hot vinegar for 3 to 5 minutes. Scrubbed it with a SOS steel wool pad and rinsed off. Then soaked for another 5 minutes. Haven't decided if I was going to do tiger strips or camo pattern with mustard. Finished product photos coming soon.

Dang, that came out really nice! The patina's color compliments the handles scales superbly.
