Removing a Vinegar patina off a blade?

Depending on the finish, scrubbing with a scotchbrite pad or 1000g-5000g sand paper should do it.

Depends on how deep the etch went. If it’s surface oxides, a scotchbrite should work. Also depends on the grit you ended with before etch. This applies similarly to any etch, but the etch itself eats away at the underlying steel. So, for instance if you had some lower grit scratches in there, those will be exaggerated due to the etch. It may require taking odd oxides and then hitting it with the last grit you ended with.

I use aluminum oxide polish on a strop, and various sticks.

It comes of easily, as long as the etch is not too deep.
