How To Removing acid wash

I got a knife second hand that has the blade acid washed, but at this point it’s looking pretty rough. I’d like to remove the acid wash, but cannot find any info on methods. I know sanding/polishing is an option. Are there any chemical options? The blade is supposed to be S35vn if that makes a difference, but could also be CPM154 if one of the previous owners switched blades on it. Any insight would be appreciated.

Take the knife apart and work on an area with steel wool (0000, extra fine). Just try lightly polishing a small area and see if you get the affect you are looking for. It will become more of a polished look, but still acid washed. Keep going until you find the finish you want.

You won't find some kind of miracle solution/product to wash the acid etch away. It takes elbow grease. You have to either sand it, buff it, or polish by hand.

Appreciate the reply, I’ll give it a shot. I like the idea of using steel wool because it’s a higher end balisong. I’d like to keep the tolerances pretty tight down near the tang.
