Hey guys this is my first post here so greetings! Today I decided I want to remove the assisted opening from my mini barrage. I found an older thread about it here where somebody mentioned it was fairly simple. It was my first time taking apart an axis lock knife so it took me a second to figure it out but after some tinkering I got it all worked out. I couldn't find any real guide for the disassembling, so I ended up making my first youtube video in the process just to do my part. Not sure if I should link from here but if you want it I'm sure you'll find it. I also took out the safety assembly which I never used.
I LOVE this knife now without the AO. It was always a great size for work/edc but it no longer raises eyebrows like it used to. Also I feel the AO takes away from the axis' one handed usability; gotta love that one handed open & close.

You should post a link to your video.

I have also removed the AO from my 581 barrage. I'll give you a heads up that removing it is easy, but re-installing it is a bit more challenging. You need to remove the thumbstuds ad re-assemble the knife with the blade over-extended by about 30-45 degrees to properly engage the spring. Once you have done so, you can rotate the blade and re-install the stop-bar, and then complete the assembly...

Thanks for the heads up Matt. Yea I don't think I'll be reinstalling it but I could see it being a pain getting the tension back on that spring. Heres the video
