Removing Black paing from Ka-Bar

Is it possible to remove the black coating on black knives like the kabars?

If there's a cleaner to remove it, I wasn't able to find it when I decoated my short. Thinner does nothing, neither does paint stripper. I just used sandpaper and time.

And how where your results? Does the blade rusts easily or is it stainless steel?

What's that mini grip knife? I have never heard of it. Sounds like a nice gift for my FG.

Not sure what this has to do with this thread, but the mini grip is the Benchmade Mini Griptilian.

It came off quickly and the bare steel underneath has a nice blue-grey color.

It's straight 1095 carbon. It will rust if you let it, but mine hasn't. A little care, and you're good to go.
