Don't know if you've ever submerged micarta in acetone or not, but any advice you could give is appreciated. -Seth
Hi Seth,
Few points . . .
1. I'm pretty sure the acetone will do the same on your SH-e. BUT . . .
2. It's a smooth coat or CRINKLE coat? From what I knew the surface underneath the crinkle coat is not smooth, but rather rough. So' you'll have to do a lot more work on it, and most likely, you'll have to use a grinder to do it right. BE CAREFUL!
There's BUSSE forum at the BladeForums.com, might worthwhile to ask there.
3. I'm not so sure how the acetone will effect the Micarta handle. But I would wrap it very carefully with the 3M duct tape - just in case.
Hope this help!
Best,
Santi.
Can you guys give any more advice? Is the surface under the crinkle on teh sh-e rough vs. smooth? will acetone damage the micarta? I have bracticed on a becker with good results..
