Removing Blade nick with Spyderco system

I have the regular gray and white rods and also purchased the very aggressive diamond-coated rod set a while back. I have a nick in a Benchmade Osborne blade and am trying to determine the best course of action to get the edge back to razor sharp status. Suggestions appreciated.

That is definitely a case for the diamond rods. Use them at 30 deg (included) until the nick is gone, refine at 30 deg with the medium and fine as usual and finish with a few (say 3-6 strokes) at 40 deg on the flats of the fine.

If you find that you carry over a burr that you can not seem to get rid of, take a few alternating strokes (3-6) with light (!) pressure at more than 20 deg per side on the medium (angle the edge into the rod), then proceed with your usual 20 strokes on the medium at 30 deg included.
