Removing Breakfree CLP

Hey all,

I have a pocket knife that was coated with breakfree. The knife has no coating, it is just bare metal. I am interested in switching to a food safe lubricant like mineral oil. However, since I want to use the knife with food, I certainly want to avoid contamination with CLP. Will washing with dish soap and hot water followed by a wipe down with isopropyl alcohol a couple of times be sufficient enough to remove the CLP?

Thank you,

Thank you. The MSDS indicates that:

Single dose oral toxicity is considered very low. Small amounts swallowed incidental to handling operations are not likely to cause injury. Swallowing
large amount may cause injury and if aspirated (liquid enters the lung) may be rapidly absorbed through the lungs and result in injury to other body
systems.

Which is reassuring as well.

Dish soap and hot water is good. Instead of Iso Alcohol, if you can get acetone (the stuff they use to get rid of nail polish), that would work better. Use a can of air to blow the alcohol or acetone out while it's still wet. Acetone evaporates very quickly. When you can do the mineral oil.

Or course, you should learn all the precautions you need to know when working with chemicals such as has been discussed in this thread.

Hope you enjoy that "pocket knife"!!!! I eat Break Free for breakfast! Good on tacos! A little bitter spice, but not too bad!
