Removing burr from blade lock

Hello forum colleagues,
I have recently bought Manly Peak lockback knife (a Bulgarian company most of you probably know of) in CPM-154.

What I saw as soon as I received it was a burr on the part of the blade that locks under lockback lever (see picture), which now causes it to grind the lockback lever.

I immediately wanted to take some sandpaper and sand it off, but am not sure how this will affect the blade steel, as the manufacturer tempers the blade etc. (not going to go into details of what I don't know), so I am not sure whether it would open a soft steel beneath (I know for gears that the steel gets "cemented", like 5-10 microns outside layers are at 65 HRC, and the steel beneath is 50 or less, not sure how this goes with knife blades).

Please advise before I potentially ruin the knife.

I wouldn't worry about the hardness. Just remove the burr with a hone or jeweler's file. Or send it back. I'm delighted with my WASP in 12C27.

Tried some sanding with 200 and 1000 paper, got the job done pretty well. We'll see if this opens a rust spot in the future.
