Removing Butt pommel

I would like to remove the handle from a buck 119. I've read it's pinned but I can't seem to see where the pin is. I've done some light sanding but still can't seem to see the pin

have ya tired breathing on it... then wiping off.......it sometimes makes it appear a bit better......also make sure ya got good lighting...sounds silly but right light and angles can make all the difference.

I tried that without much luck. I'm assuming it's in the center line of the knife where the tang would be, but is it in the center of the cap, towards the back more, or towards the blade more?

I don't wipe the pommel off after I breath on it. How old is that 119? Could it be a barrel nut?
Maybe put it in the fridge for a while before breathing on it...IDK, just some thoughts.

look inside the circle for.the colored difference...its the pin....

best I can do not in person......hope this helps...

Closeup of my 119. I've read a couple times that the 119 rivet is made of aluminum - to match the pommel. That would explain why it can be tough to detect. I measured with a caliper almost exactly 1/4 inch from the right edge of the spacer to the centerline of the rivet.

sorry my pics don't capture it well. its hard to capture in a pic....not even sure ya can see even where it is....plbs up close pic caught it well. cant exaggerate enough proper angle and light..maybe try outside in the sun and bring a sharpie, if its daylight where ya are in the world.

Some good advice here from Joe Houser:

Also some other possible helpful info. from long ago:
