Removing coating on Becker line?

I was just wonderin; has anybody tried to remove the coating on for instace the Magnum Camp? I was thinking of removing the coating and putting on a wooden handle. What would it take to get of the coating, and are the handles glued on?

Ralf posted something in the Busse forum under a similar question for Busse knives, but he also did this to a Companion and he provides a link to it. Looks pretty cool to me, but he didn't mention the handles, and the picture is only of the blade.
