Removing grill marks for Kydex

Gday,

I’ve just managed to finally make a Kydex sheath, but the toaster oven I was using left slightly more shiny areas where it was touching the grill. Is there anyway for me to remove them? They don’t feel different, just look slightly shinier. I’m considering trying a buffing wheel with compound.

Any knowledge or experience is appreciated.

Try hand rubbing with a piece of scotchbrite. If you make another try to find a tray or piece of sheet metal or such that’ll fit in there.

Thanks for the advice. After leaving it to cool they eventually just went away and I can't see them anymore.

I use a $20 electric griddle after having the same issues with a toaster oven some years ago. I find it easier to control temperature and even heating without the grill marks.

Griddle or baking sheet and wax paper.
