removing grind lines?

Hey guys, I got my second attempt bowie to the shape that I want.took it to the grinder to get it thinner. Now I'm wondering how to get those grind lines out. I got it all pretty even. Can I just sand it down by hand? I figured a disc sander will leave circular scratches all over but i dont know much about this stuff. I also eventually want a mirror finish but for now I just want to get the grind lines out. any tips? Thanks very much
 
I draw file after my initial rough grind. Of course I am assuming you are flat grinding. I can take out mill file scratches with 220 paper.
