I'd like some advice on the best way to remove a Kalgard finish from the D2 blade on one of my knives. Since contact with the sheath seems to remove it rather easily, I imagine that removing it completely should not be too difficult; however, before I screw things up...
Is there a solvent that would work? (The scales are Kalgard coated black Micarta. If there is a solvent, I think I'd like to strip them as well. Since they are grooved, I don't think simple buffing would do the trick here.) If not, what buffing compound would you folks recommend? I don't have access to many power tools, but can use either a Dremel w/felt wheels or a hand drill w/muslin wheels.
As an alternative to doing it myself, if anyone would like to volunteer to do it for a reasonable fee, I'm all ears.
TIA for your input.

I may be goin' to hell in a bucket, Babe, but at least I'm enjoyin' the ride.
