how can i take my latch off? im trying to get the pins holding it in out but im having alot of trouble, what can i do?

i really have no idea, i picked it up at this knife store in my area alittle while back for 30 bucks and i've been trying to figure out what it is.
the pin holding the latch in has no type of screw or anyway to loosen it, im just trying to pry it out.

There's no stamp or word(s) on the tang? Can you describe it?

all it says is stainless rostfrei. its got black handles, half serated blade. oval shaped inlays on the handles...

its a semi-popular cheapo.

I found the best way to do this is SLOWLY take a small hacksaw, put the handle vertical(standing up) and cut the latch in half length wise. Be very careful when your near the end, dont slip and mark up your knife. After you cut the latch(the pins will be cut too) pull the ends of the pins out with a small pair of pliers. I did this to a jag with good results, but i like latches now...

Yep, sounds like an import cheapie. If you really want tne latch off, the hacksaw will work, but you may scuff up the handle end. Wrapping it with masking or duct tape will help minimize this. You can also support the handle end (they break easily) and drill the peened over end of the pin, and then gently tap the pin out. There are also ways to keep the latch out of the way.

Please take your seats gentlemen; oh, and flip 'em if you've got 'em.
