Similar to a thread I posted in last week, but after some discussion about the axis lock and smoothness, I was tinkering with my 586 de-assisted barrage, and my 484-1 flips like greased lightning (I can flick hard without the thumb studs and it opens). I have adjusted the pivot screws a few times on the 586 trying to find the sweet spot of zero blade play and free moving pivot, and I noticed that the axis lock seems to drag a lot more on the cam of the blade (more spring pressure). I removed one side spring and voila! Just as slick as my nakamura. I checked the nakamura with a flashlight, looks like both springs are there, I suppose 1 could be broken? Anyone try this? Without taking my 484 apart, are all axis springs the same?
