Recommendation? Removing Personalization Lettering from ZT?

Anybody know if/how I can remove the lettering ("AC") on this Zero Tolerance? Was a gift that came directly from ZT, personalized with my initials. I would love this knife if the lettering were gone. Thanks for any help!

You're not going to get it off without refinishing the handles.
Since it was a gift, I would leave it alone.

Thanks for responding. Do you know if it would be possible to refinish the handles to look the same way? I appreciate the sentiment about the gift (that's why I haven't done anything with it for 5 or so years), but now I'd rather fix it so I love it and carry it rather than let it just sit in my drawer, untouched.

You would be better off buying an after market handle.
