Hey guys, I removed my pocket clip from small 21 so it fits better in my sheath, but I wanted to place the screw back in its place. Is it just me or does the blade slightly connect with the end of the threads on the screw now that there is more depth with the pocket clip removed? I just thought it looked better with the screw filling the hole but I removed it for fear of damaging the blade.

CR sells an titanium insert for this and for aesthetic reasons. If you put the screw back in without the insert it might, and probably will, hit the blade.

^^^ What he said. The screw length is just as precisely done as everything else on a CRK knife, and it is flush when the clip or an insert is mounted. If you run it down snug without one or the other, it will stick out beyond the inside of the handle. If you don't want to wait for the insert, you can use a small washer, but obviously the recess remains unfilled if you go that way.

pretty certain new graham still stocks them.

if not, go directly through crk, they are not expensive.

I am a pocket clip insert expert, I have purchased 10 of them..................

They make large & small

They make polished & bead blasted

They come with a new screw & run $27.50 each

They are beveled in the front so they fit flush, They can be installed wrong

I know because I did it

CustomerFavorites on ebay has them

Northwest Blades Stocks them

New Graham has them

They are all the same price $27.50 plus shipping

IMO they are worth it because It covers the screw hole and the slot

I don't have any dog in this hunt, but I'd take Rick up on his offer...you are more likely to get the right insert from him than any other vendor.
