Y'all might remember my post about cleaning out my scabbard and the rust spots it created. Well, now, can anyone suggest a way to remove these rust spots. They're not that big. Thanks.

I don't use power tools.
I roll a news paper nice and tight till it is an inch or so thick, tape it closed so I can cut it into 6"lenths.With this I can apply metal polishes pieces of steel wool sand paper and so on.I can work down to the edge with out sliceing my finger tips.Make sure the khukuri is on something sturdy to take the downward pressure rub as hard as you like or need. When the end gets messed up slice off a little or turn it over.Try it you have nothing to lose.

Ben,
Definitely no need for power tools. I'd be surprised if a mere month's accumulation of rust in a non-rainforest environment couldn't be removed with Flitz, a soft cloth, and a little bit of elbow grease

Ok, I used Kozak's suggestion and got the rust off with a scotchbrite pad, but how can I get that mirror finish back? What grits of sandpaper do I use?

Go to automotive paint supply store and get 800-2000 grit , then put a little muscle into it .
