So it looks like somebody spilled something on my cv swayback jack while it was closed and on a shelf. I haven't touched it in a couple weeks, and after opening it up there is tons of pitting and dark rust specks on the blades etc :(

Does anyone know the best way to get these off? I had a nice patina going, and now it is ugly and rough...

I've had this happen to me before as well. I usually start with Break Free..WD-40....whatever I have around and a scotchbrite pad. If that doesn't work I'll use the finest steel wool I have. You can also Flitz or a comparable product.
