I sharpened my Buck/Mayo with Edgepro and scratched the blade in the process. What grit sandpaper would be best for removing scratches.

For light scratches, you may want to use a metal polish instead. I used Auto-sol to remove light scratches. Coat a rag with the polish, put the rag on a firm surface, eg. table, and just repeatedly rub your knife against the rag at the angle required. This way is less tiring on your fingers, safer and you can polish much faster compared to the usual method of rubbing using your fingers. Metal polish is less likely to radically change the finish of the knife. If you use sandpaper, you probably have to sandpaper the entire blade to match.

did ya scratch it putting the angle thingie on?? i dont have an edge pro but do have a gatco, and have scratched up a couple like that myself.

Tape man, put celophane tape on the blade so you don't do this again in the future.

I put tape on the blade but it started coming off during the process so I just took it off. One of the inherent problems with the EdgePro is that the blade will get scratched unless you tape it.

yes, I agree that that is the weakness of Edgepro. I've somehow scratched my blades up that way - the tape seems to come off during the sharpening (I used painters tape). the only way not to scratch it is to do it real slow, put a thin layer of wet wipe on the table of the edgepro and discard the moment it gets slush on it. It's this slush (containing metal filings) which scratches the blade.
