Is it possible to make a PE out of a OHT with Sharpmaker? Anyone tried with good result? How long will it take? I only have the brown and white sticks that came with the package. Cheers!

I think you would need the diamond rods to even "attempt" it! and even then I think it would take a long time!

A benchstone would be a better bet , then a final tune up with the Sharpmaker .

I took the serrations off of a vic swisstool spirit with the lansky sharpening system but it took an hour or two on the course stones and then moving down to the finer ones.

I agree on the bench stone. I used a DMT XXC to remove the serrations from my OHT, then refined the edge with higher grit stones. Sharpmaker would work okay once the serrations were gone, but I am comfortable on bench stones. The SAK steel is easy to grind away.

Heck, if you have a Sharpmaker, you CAN sharpen those serrations right up if you want. 3 or 4 light slow passes on the toothy side of the blade, sometimes pushing the blade forward as you go down the stone, sometimes pulling it back toward you (so you sharpen both the front and back of each "tooth", then one pass down on the plain side of the blade and repeat. If your knife isn't dull yet, just the white stones will do fine. A few repeats of this and your serrations will shave hair off your arm ect. I have the serrated blades on both my Spirit and SwissTool super sharp. Just a thought.
