removing stain of the metal bits...

so I've always been a tinkerer, I love fixing things, building things, etc.
so now my latest venture is into the arena of knife making. I'm more of a remove material sorta knife maker right now. I've made two knives so far, the first was a viking seax that i finished tje handle with boiled linseed oil.
For whatever reason I decided my second knife i put on some red oak for the handle and used some antique mahogany stain that I like. here's where my idiot brain didn't fully flesh this out ;)

so i put a couple coats of stain on, and i like the finish thus far. but... the stain on the brass pins and on the metal spine. What is the best way to remove the stain off the metal bits without removing the stain off the wood part? I suppose I wasn't really thinking this through, at the time I figured it can't be that hard to get wood stain off metal, and welp here i am.

After I figure this out I'm debating between BOL or using some spar urethene on the handle. The spar is ridiculously tough, but not sure if i'll like the feel of it. But, this is just me toying around with a knife at this point so I'm not afraid to screw it up. It's metal from an old saw blade that I heat treated, no idea what the steel actually is, but a file skates on it and I hacked a 2x4 sending pieces off it for a bit with no damage to the blade, so seems ok so far. just gotta get this stain off the brass pins and metal bits...

sorry for the rambling first post, any advice is welcome.
thanks!

Rub it off with a soft cloth. If needed, use some alcohol.
i didn't anticipate how difficult it might be to get off the metal, I tried the soft cloth at first. alcohol helps quite a bit, and I ended up having to very carefully use a very small screw driver to help chip the stuff off in a couple of spots. thanks for the tip.
