I am having trouble getting this grip screw removed and am getting the dreaded little metal chips from my Wiha torx bit slipping. Would it be safe to get a vise clamped onto the threaded standoff or do I risk deforming it out of round? Thanks

Yeah, I would try a little heat. I think a soldering iron would work nicely, here. Obviously not too much, but heat helps quite a bit when it comes getting a nut/screw loose, and to get Loctite to loosen up.

Cool I’ll try that

Just don't melt anything.

And don't rush it. A few seconds with the soldering iron, and then remove it from the screw to give the heat some time to "spread" throughout the connection. Then maybe repeat, it necessary.
