Removing the blade from a CrossCut

I want to remove the knife blade from my SOG CrossCut so I can carry it when flying. Can anyone recommend something I can use to take up its space on the pivot bar so the other tools won't be loose? I haven't had much luck finding a washer the right size and I'm not sure what else to try.

Does SOG make any other tools that I could substitute for the blade? Or even a shim that would take up the appropriate amount of space?

Hi Bob,

You may wish to check with the FAA or your airlines, but a CrossCut without a blade may still cause you problems getting onto an airplane.

That aside. Assume replacing the blade solves your problem, you may either insert a washer or a second file.

The airlines seem to be easing up on the more ridiculous restrictions, such as nail files, but I intend to talk with them before I decide what to take.

Thanks for the info! I'll see if I can find a washer that will fit.
