Removing the coating and food prep

I've seen a few people here use paint stripper to take the coating off a Becker, but since I want to use it for food prep I'm wondering if there is anything safer outside of sanding it?

I don't imagine stripping will affect food prep at all, so don't worry.

Stripper is gone once you clean it with soap and hot water. It's a better solution than sanding. I've done both and am much happier with stripping.
